Before studying Shindo, whenever I encountered problems, I always wanted to prove that I was right and others were wrong. I often held onto emotional fixations I couldn’t let go of. But now, I understand that being “right” or “wrong” isn’t what truly matters. What matters more is using wisdom to assess the situation and make the choice that is most appropriate and beneficial in the present moment. This shift in mindset has allowed me to let go of things much more easily and not be led by my emotions.

In terms of lifestyle, I’ve also learned to love myself more—to pay attention to the state of my body and mind, and to allow myself time to rest and recharge. I’ve come to realize that only when we truly know how to love ourselves can we develop the capacity to love others, to care for them and nourish them.

The book teaches that a happy life is one of “outer delight and inner joy.” I’ve deeply felt that a relaxed mindset, wise choices, and genuine self-care have made my heart more joyful—and helped me see more of the beauty and abundance that already exist in my life.
